In 2008, I lost my mother, then my father, and then my divorce… I transformed my grief into something beautiful and meaningful by creating a space that not only honors the history of the mill, but also provides a place of renewal for others. “O Moinho” (Guest House) is undoubtedly more than just a place to stay—it is a place with a soul, where every detail reflects my personal journey of resilience and rebirth. Rebuilding the mill not only revitalized a physical space, but also symbolized the rebuilding of my life after moments of loss and challenge. This rebirth, for both me and the mill, created a special place where people can feel the same energy of renewal and peace that I found.
