Casarão do Largo da Eira is an imposing country house that has been restored to its former glory, character and unique beauty.
It is a family home, with the hosts living on the first floor and the guests having their own private and completely independent ground floor, comprising two suites and a one-bedroom flat, also independent of each other.
Leaving the Templar city of Tomar and following the Estrada do Prado, skirting the banks of the River Nabão, you arrive at the picturesque village of Pedreira, whose name derives from the fact that some of the stones used to build the Convent of Christ (a world heritage site) in Tomar came from here.
The Casarão itself, also built of stone, boasts imposing flagstones on its balconies, engraved with fossils of marine animals that support the theory that the sea “once passed through here”. It is furnished and decorated, both inside and out, in a typically Portuguese rustic style, with furniture and objects that tell stories, many of them recovered from the ruins of the Casarão. It has a large garden, a generous 14m X 5m swimming pool, changing rooms, garden furniture and several patios that are cosy corners.
The maximum capacity of the accommodation is just 8 adults. The amphitheatre staff provide all the support and assistance in a discreet and minimally invasive way, thus allowing for a peaceful, safe and intimate atmosphere between the “walls” of the Casarão.

At the homestay, all units are fitted with a wardrobe, a flat-screen TV, a private bathroom, bed linen, and towels. All rooms are fitted with a coffee machine, while selected rooms include a fully equipped kitchen with an oven, a toaster, and a stovetop.

There is a coffee shop, and a mini-market is also available.

Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fatima is 23 miles from the homestay, while Almourol Castle is 19 miles away. The nearest airport is Humberto Delgado Airport, 85 miles from Casarão do Largo da Eira.
